Hello everyone,
After reading all 53 pages and posts, I am more confused than before.
Short history: In February 2024 we bought a used RAV4 Lounge (model year 2022) from
Toyota dealer. This was stolen in early November 2024.
We were naive and didn't realize that the car was so popular.
To prevent the key signal from being intercepted, we only had a keyless shielding cover and
a steering wheel lock as a backup.
We thought long and hard about whether we should buy another RAV4, but in the end we
decided on a new plug-in hybrid Rav4.
The TESS is already installed as standard, and we also want to have a Bear-Lock lock installed.
Does anyone have experience with TESS?
Does a Pandora Smart Pro or the mi50 & miblock from moving intelligence Sin work?
The Can-Bus blocking plates don't seem to fit the plugin because the vulnerability was closed by Toyota?
Finally, I would like to add that even if the insurance covers the damage, the feeling that
someone has invaded your "private space" (vehicle) is uncomfortable to say the least.
The entire cost of a car share is not covered, and you also have to make sacrifices,
which doesn't make things easy if you are a caregiver.
We are lucky and did not have to wait long for a new vehicle, but the stress and uncomfortable feeling
you are left with is not worth the insurance money.
I wouldn't wish this on any forum member here, so to all of you:
"Have a good and safe journey!"
